Despite all the hand wringing theres still life in the corpse

For several years some of us, including yours truly,  have been predicting the demise of the powerful tubeframe V8 cars which gained fame with the TransAm and IMSA GTO classes.

However every year I am surprised that people not only still love these cars, but are actively pursue either building or purchasing these cars to race. And as the years have gone by the landscape has changed. Having been involved with this for a while I find it very frustrating. On the one hand everyones looking to purchase the 50k Rocketsports car, Preferably with a C6 Corvette body.  Those of you who have been out there realize that is about as common as the Easter Bunny. What is more realistic is the 50-75K Weaver or Riley Camaro, or the odd Mustang.

But it still is a symbol that there is still hope that someone will find the Magic Bullet and these cars can return to the heyday of the 90’s, and that would be great.
